On color schemes

Nothing much to report as of yet.  I am aware that I missed the deadline I set to have my minis painted, but that was as much a learning experience as any other.
Things I learned:
1) Spray paint fumes take a few days to go away.
2) Spray painting in winter sucks.

Anyway, I have the paints for my minis on order via my local game store New Game in Town.
I've chosen to go with purple as the primary, and yellow as the secondary color.  Brown for the fur and fleshtone for the fleshy bits as well.

on primers

Hey everybody!  I finally got off my duff to test the primer I have on my Skaven.

Rather than prime all my minis, only to discover that the primer dulled the details, I tested it on one of my larger minis, one of my Rat Ogres.

I missed a spot on the underside front of the model, and I will fill fix it with another bit of primer, but I am happy with the way it turned out.  The Krylon Fusion primer doesn't dull any of the details, so I will be priming the rest of my minis this week, as soon as I can set up a mini-spray booth in my garage (priming in my basement is not an option, not enough airflow to clear out fumes.

On gifts

I decided to get a few things for myself this Christmas.  I ordered from Amazon and the first of them arrived yesterday.

My friends who got me started in Warhammer and Mordheim have been getting into Warmachine and Hordes.  It is, in their opinion, much more balanced than Mordheim, and scales better than Warhammer.

Anyway, I decided to get the Circle Orboros starter pack, which consists of Kaya the Wildborne Warlock, a Feral Warpwolf Heavy Warbeast, and 2 Argus Light Warbeasts.

As per my previous goal, I am not opening this box until my Skaven army has been painted, so I don't expect to get to this until Spring.
